Spring League Rules
The Competition consists of 5 qualifying rounds, 12 holes Singles Stableford over 5 weeks, commencing Monday 8th February 2010.
Each round will be run over 7 days, Monday to Sunday inclusive and no extensions will be entertained except for weather conditions and if these are necessary, they will be highlighted.
Teams of 6 players, with at least 1 lady on each team, with 4 scores to count each week, and four weeks out of the five weeks to count.
The top Ten teams to qualify for a Playoff in Tier One and the remaining teams qualify for Playoff in Tier Two, on one Sunday, and hopefully, weather permitting, this would be Sunday, 14th March, 2010. Timesheet will operate from 8 am to 12 noon on the Final day The presentation of Prizes will be made the afternoon of the final. There will be 2 Team Prizes for the Best 2 teams in Tier One on the Final day and 2 Team Prizes for the Best 2 teams in Tier Two.
Scores will NOT be brought forward from the Five Weeks to the Final Playoff Sunday. The Playoff will be dependant on the best FOUR scores on the Final day.
Each Team Captain must pay for his team before the first playing date, i.e., Monday 8th February, 2010. Entry fee is €20 per player, €120 per team.
There will be 3 Prizes for the best 3 cards each week. These will be Vouchers. In addition there will be 1 Prize for the Ladies Best Card each week
There will be an Overall First and Second Prize to the individuals who have the best 5 accumulated scores for the 5 weeks.
You must declare and enter your name on the Entry Book for the first time you decide to play in each week’s competition. You must clearly mark Spring League on the top of the Card and also your Team Number or Captain’s Name.
As the Competition is being run over 12 holes only, each player plays of two-thirds of his/her normal handicap.
Players MUST play off Mats on Tees where provided.
This year, we hope to have more holes in play, therefore, again, weather permitting, there will be a 16 holes or a 14 holes or a 12 holes competition running each Sunday for Gents. This competition will be open to members who have played in the Winter League during the week Monday to Saturday, BUT, if a member is unable to play during the week, he MAY STILL PLAY on Sundays in the 16/14/12 holes competition, and his scores for the 12 holes Winter League (1 to 10 and 17 and 18) will be taken from his 16/14/12 hole card. This is entirely dependant on weather and course conditions.
