“3” IRISH OPEN, KILLARNEY. 29 JULY to 1 AUGUST 2010
RENEWED CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS.
Killarney Golf and Fishing Club have been given the honour of hosting the “3” Irish Open this year. To run the event they will need the help of members of our fellow Golf Clubs as volunteers.
If your interested in being involved in this please e-mail me Jack Kiely at newsletter@kilrushgolfclub.com with your name, contact number and what days you are available for.
The ideal situation for them would be that a club (or even an amalgamation of two clubs) would undertake to “take ownership” of an individual hole and look after the stewarding and crowd control at that hole for the duration of the tournament. 25, or more, people will be required to manage each hole per day and that number will be divided into an early and a late shift as well as a reserve in the event of people dropping out.
NOTE: IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO FILL A LIST OF 25 IT WILL NOT BE A PROBLEM, WE CAN PAIR YOU WITH ANOTHER CLUB.
For the information of those considering volunteering the following can be assured,
v A full briefing will be given before starting duty,
v The 25 or so volunteers will be divided into two groups,
v These two groups will alternate each day between early and late shifts,
v The roster will be organised so that any volunteer will not be asked to do duty for more than 4 to 5 hours each day,
v We will be posting the duty roster for the following day in the Marshals Briefing Tent as well as on the Killarney Club website http://www.killarney-golf.com/ before close of play each day.
v Each volunteer will be in receipt of, 1 waterproof jacket, 1 baseball cap, 1 Season Ticket to enable him/her to watch the golf before or after shift, 1 Season Car Park Pass, 1 lunch ticket per day and a complimentary invitation to play the course post tournament on a date to be arranged and subject to availability.
What we in Kilrush Golf Club Need to do is:
- Compile a list of some twenty five (25) members who would be willing to help (Numbers less than 25 can be paired with another club.)
- Ideally they would like if those on the list could commit to work on all the tournament days, including the Pro-Am day on 28 July 2010, or at least a minimum of 3 days.
- Include mobile numbers and e-mail addresses (if possible) for each,
- Include also the name and details of the member on the list who will act as “HOLE CONTROLLER” (as well as another member who will act as his/her deputy).
- List no later than 28 May 2010.
They are looking forward to running a successful and enjoyable event and what help we can be given will be greatly appreciated.
